These photographs were made around the Christmas market at Marienplatz in Munich.
Rather than focusing on spectacle and consumerism of Christmas, this work focuses on the people that inhabit Christmas. The market itself is temporary, assembled for a season and then dismantled, but the gestures it hosts are familiar and enduring. Objects are selected, carried home, and kept long after the lights are taken down.
